We now have our winners, announced by guest judge Tyler Keevil in Frome yesterday:

1st place           Clare Reddaway with ‘Long Way from Home’.

2nd place         Richard Hughes with ‘Is this the Fussen Train?’

3rd place          Jessica Fabrizius with ‘Trapped in a Box’.

‘Foetal Position’ by J.P.Seabright and ‘On Brasenose Two’ by Graham Anderson were both Highly Commended.

Local first prize also went to Clare Reddaway for ‘Long Way from Home’, and Jimmy Lowther with ‘Outside’ was local runner-up.

We were delighted to have both Clare and Jimmy with us for the prize-giving and to hear Clare read her winning story — we hope to feature some of the above stories on the website soon. Thank you to everyone who came to support the entrants and to our readers, judges, those who helped with arrangements on this special day and, of course, everyone who took part in this year’s competition.

We regret that one visitor, who arrived early, was unable to stay for the afternoon and are sorry that she had been unable to ascertain the time of the event.
