The competition results were announced by our judge, novelist and Guardian writer Keith Stuart, at the prizegiving in Frome on Sunday July 10. Keith congratulated all the shortlisted entrants on their work and said that choosing between them had been a difficult task!

The winners are as follows:

First Prize – Saying Goodbye to Laura by Nikki Copleston

Second Prize – Moonblind by Kieran Marsh

Third Prize – Buyer Beware by Fiona Anderson

Highly Commended: The Fog, by Joanna Shardlow, Redhead Reunion by Dianne Bown-Williams and Selkie by Anne Corlett.

The Local Prize was won by Anne Corlett for Selkie.

Thank you for all your wonderful stories and for your support of this competition – do come back to us next year. We will be publishing some of the winning stories on the website, subject to the writers’ consent.
